About us

We are here to empower great thinkers through reading, writing, and creative storytelling.

Prisenda Writers Residency Initiative (PWRI) was founded in 2018 with a simple yet profound vision—to inspire literacy and its creative application for Africa’s sustainable development.

Originally conceived as a haven for writers seeking an ideal environment for creative expression, PWRI has since evolved into a comprehensive literacy and education initiative.

Through immersive residency programs, literacy outreach, book donations, and creative writing mentorship, PWRI continues to empower individuals, particularly young minds, to embrace reading and writing as transformative tools for personal and societal growth.
